Equine Wellness Plans
The doctors at the Animal Medical Hospital at Glenwood have designed Equine Wellness Plans to meet the needs of your equine companions.
- These programs include all the appropriate vaccinations for horses in the Maryland area. Vaccinations are given before your horse is most at risk for disease to ensure proper protection.
- Parasite control is incorporated into an up-to-date plan recommended by industry experts. Fecal egg counts are utilized to ensure your equine companion’s parasite burden remains low, and parasite resistance is not a problem.
- Wellness plans include a yearly comprehensive physical examination, dental examination and blood panel to ensure your companion’s external, internal and dental health remain in peak condition throughout the year.
- Deworming can be provided upon request for horses on any Wellness Plan for an additional fee.
- Clients need not be present during Wellness Plan visits if horses can be easily identified and caught.
- Please note that Wellness Plan prices do not include the farm call fee.
The doctors at the Animal Medical Hospital at Glenwood feel confident that both you and your equine companion will benefit from one of these plans, and we hope you will consider enrolling your horse(s). Please review each plan to determine which one is right for you.
Digital Radiography
In our ongoing efforts to offer state-of-the-art services for your horse, we provide digital (computed) radiography. Our system captures superior high-quality images in the hospital and in the field. The computerized capability of this system allows us to adjust tones to best match the diagnostic needs of the individual horse.
This technology helps us detect very small problems that are not visible on traditional x-rays. Under high magnification, images remain very clear and retain sharp contrast. Digital radiography allows us to diagnose the problem before it becomes a serious issue.
Digital radiography offers:
- Superior quality
- Increased diagnostic capability
- Lasting image storage and retrieval
Radiographs can be printed on film or copied onto CD, flash drive or emailed for your own use. As an added benefit, duplicate radiographs or copies retain the same quality as the original film.
